Black History Month: Celebrating the Songwriters & Producers Who Shape K-Pop's Sound
|
Black History Month is observed to celebrate the achievements of Black individuals. It began as a way of remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. It is celebrated in February in the United States and Canada, while in Ireland and the United Kingdom, it is observed in October.
At Genius Korea, we recognize the work that goes into making a K-Pop song and the influence Black culture has on the genre. While there are countless more Black professionals working in the Korean music industry as songwriters, producers, engineers, makeup artists, choreographers, as well as journalists and being part of the enormous K-Pop fandoms, the songwriters and producers on this list were collected from the popular opinion of the Genius Korea Community. Our purpose is solely to highlight and applaud the work of these amazing individuals.
